HR requests start directly in Slack or Teams
HR teams typically manage a wide range of requests such as benefits questions, relocation updates, termination notifications, and policy clarifications. In many organizations, those requests arrive through a mix of email threads, shared inboxes, and manual forms.
With Console, employees submit HR requests directly in Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Google Chat. There are no portals, emails, or manual forms required. Console captures the request inside the messaging thread and begins processing it immediately. If preferred, Console can also answer questions via email.
Because the request happens inside the employee’s existing messaging environment, there is no context switching or additional login required. Contractors and multi-channel Slack guests can also submit HR requests, as long as they have an Okta account.
Automatic routing based on who is asking
Console automatically routes HR requests to the right team (HR, IT, or Legal) based on who is submitting the request. HR teams have complete control over routing logic. For example, benefits questions can be directed to a specific owner, or requests can be routed dynamically depending on topic, category, or keyword.
If a ticket lands in the wrong team, it can be instantly rerouted with a single button. The employee does not need to resubmit the request. Additionally, Console integrates with IAM providers to maintain an up-to-date view of each employee’s identity within the organization.
Personalized responses by employee profile
Responses are personalized based on the employee’s profile. For example, a Canadian employee receives Canadian policy, meanwhile a U.S. employee receives the U.S. version.
This ensures employees receive location-appropriate guidance automatically.
Knowledge base and playbook automation
Most HR requests are resolved instantly through Console’s knowledge base and playbooks, without reaching a human agent.
When escalation is required, the ticket routes to the appropriate person with full context already attached.
When a human answers a request, that response can be reviewed and approved as a reusable workflow. Once approved, Console can handle the same request automatically in the future, based on the rules the admin has explicitly defined..
The Console AI assistant allows HR teams to create and update automations in natural language, with no code and minimal rework needed.
Automated onboarding and offboarding
Onboarding and offboarding workflows trigger automatically, including:
Welcome emails
System access
Manager notifications
State termination notifications are sent automatically based on employee location.
HR instances can eventually run fully independently of external ITSMs, with Console handling both resolution and recordkeeping.
Relocation and benefits automation
Relocation requests are tracked end-to-end. Console automatically prompts employees for required information and updates systems when a move is confirmed.
Benefits data flows between tools such as Cocoon, Pave, CultureAmp, and other platforms without manual exports or uploads.
Built-in approvals, SLA escalation, and auditability
Approval workflows are built into HR processes.
If no response is received within the defined SLA, automatic escalation can occur. Every request is fully auditable. Teams can see exactly why a routing decision was made.
Console’s Inbox view gives HR agents a clear queue:
Green checkmark for resolved
Caution mark for pending human action
Centralized HR analytics
Console gives HR leaders a unified view of request volume, resolution patterns, and automation performance across the entire workspace. Instead of pulling reports from multiple systems or manually compiling data, teams can access real-time analytics in one place.
HR teams can track:
Total number of requests submitted
How many were automatically resolved versus escalated
Average response and resolution times
Volume by category, topic, or workflow
Trends over time
This visibility helps HR understand workload distribution, identify recurring issues, and measure how effectively automation is reducing manual effort. Over time, these insights inform staffing decisions, workflow improvements, and knowledge base investments.
Replacing Zapier-based HR automation
Zapier bots currently used for HR automation can be replaced directly within Console, consolidating tools into a single system.
Console already supports automated routing, onboarding and offboarding workflows, state-based termination notifications, benefits data syncing across tools like Cocoon, Pave, and CultureAmp, built-in approvals with SLA escalation, and centralized HR analytics.
Because these workflows run natively inside Console, HR teams can manage intake, automation, approvals, and reporting without relying on separate Zapier bots.
